It is best to keep water off of your laminate. Vacuum and sweep the floor. Then use a dry mop (Swiffer style mop) to lightly mist the floor and wipe it down to remove dust and never use any polish, wax, or mop and glow on your laminate floor. It will create a film and leave a residue that you wont be able to get off and it can possibly even damage the look of the material. We recommend that you use Bona Laminate and Tile Cleaner. or any certified laminate flooring cleaner.
Engineered Hardwood floors use a urethane, or polyurethane top coat. First, sweep or vacumm the floor to remove any dirt and small rocks etc. You can then clean it with any certified hardwood flooring cleaner such as Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner, or you can use a mix of pH-neutral soap with water in a spray bottle and mist and dry mop. Avoid getting large amounts of water on the floor as this can damage it. Also do not use acidic vinegar solutions, which can dull the wood floors finish. use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe up any excess water. Depending on the amount of traffic the floor receives, clean once a week or once a month.
